What is your theme and why did you choose it? The group consists of myself, Molly, Kayleigh, Ella and Demi. We based our decision on what we thought as a collective, would have been the most interesting topic for us to explore and research. This lead us to choosing ethical as our performance approach; our other options being social, cultural and historical. We also took into consideration that an ethical approach is thoroughly based off your own personal beliefs and perspectives, which could lead to controversy and discussion within the audience alongside reflection if we successfully educate our audience.   What inspired your choice of practitioners & why? What inspired our choice of practitioners was this idea of realism inspired by Brecht but also mainly focused on Frantic Assembly as we wanted our piece to be am illustration of physical theatre.  What techniques did you choose to include and why? Three techniques we explored within the piece were thought tracking, still image and multi rolling. Our biggest technique I would say we were focused on was thought tracking because we really wanted to express that two of our characters were thoughts in the back of the head controlling the two other characters how we I think generally my group found it tricky to actually focus on the other two techniques due to our lack of time and how we were trying to figure out how we could display the thought tracking effectively.  Reflection- using a prop as a stimulus: During the beginning of our lesson, we all had to choose a prop based off our own instincts as we were yet to know what we were using the props for. Our first task was to write a note of all the words we would link to or describe our prop with and create a few movements based on theses notes. Developing this further, we then produced a sequence like piece of us just moving with our prop; imagining a scene in our head and how we would illustrate that. The prop that I chose was a little hand fan and I think my initial reasoning on why I chose that prop was because it would be easy to create a character with. For instance, immediately I thought of a higher class woman and all of the ways the fan would be used. Once we had played around with a few sequences, we then partnered up with one of our peers.
